Gauteng Police Cannot Rule Out Serial Killer as Tenth Woman's Body Found in Ekurhuleni

Gauteng police commissioner Lt Gen Tommy Mthombeni said on September 26 that police cannot rule out the possibility of a serial killer, after a woman's body was found that morning at Mooifontein Cemetery in Tembisa, Ekurhuleni. It is the tenth woman's body found in the municipality since July. Mthombeni said the victim appeared to have been stoned and cited a similar modus operandi across the cases, but said police cannot yet conclusively link them all. Police are offering a R400,000 reward for information, and a post-mortem is pending. Earlier victims were mostly women in their 20s and 30s who were found partly clothed.
