Six RÚV Board Members Seek Eurovision 2027 Boycott Unless Israel Is Barred

Six of nine members of Icelandic public broadcaster RÚV’s board submitted a statement seeking a Eurovision 2027 boycott unless Israel is barred from competing. Board member Diljá Ámundadóttir Zoëga disclosed the statement after Wednesday’s meeting in Reykjavík. The signatories called on the broadcaster’s director to notify the European Broadcasting Union that RÚV should not participate under those circumstances. They also reiterated an earlier appeal to exclude Israel from the contest and asked the director to convey that demand again.
