GM Israel Engineer Details Design to Encrypt Vehicle-Camera Video

A GM Israel staff software engineer has described an end-to-end encryption system his team built for vehicle-camera video. In a sponsored technical account published on October 5, he said decryption keys remain in the vehicle and the owner's authorized phone, while GM's servers store encrypted video. Initial pairing uses a one-time QR code or PIN displayed inside the car and a password-authenticated key exchange. The design covers live viewing and event recordings, according to the engineer; the account did not identify vehicle models, a rollout date or an independent security audit.
