Petah Tikva has announced that Highway 40's public-transport lane will be reserved for public transport Sunday through Thursday from 06:00 to 09:00 and from 15:00 to 19:00. At other times and on weekends, all drivers will be able to use the lane. The peak-hour arrangement follows the municipality's request after an additional lane was paved in each direction as part of the road upgrade. The announcement was issued on behalf of Mayor Rami Greenberg and shared by Deputy Mayor Tzadok Ben Moshe, with the stated aim of maintaining efficient public transport during peak periods.
