Maccabi Haifa Fans Allege Police Abuse at Teddy; Police Reject Targeting Claims

Maccabi Haifa supporters have described alleged police mistreatment at Jerusalem’s Teddy Stadium in newly published interviews ahead of the club’s next match against Hapoel Jerusalem. One supporter says officers beat and arrested him after the April 19 match against Beitar Jerusalem and that he filed a complaint with the Police Internal Investigations Department. The club says repeated approaches to Jerusalem District Police have not resolved safety concerns and reiterates its refusal to sell its ticket allocation until conditions improve. Israel Police rejects claims that it targets a particular club, saying match deployments follow operational assessments and aim to protect public safety.
