Yoav Ziv Says Maccabi Tel Aviv Replaced Him to Refresh Its Management

Former Maccabi Tel Aviv team manager Yoav Ziv says CEO Jack Angelidis told him the club wanted to refresh its management after nine years in the role. In an account published for the first time on October 11, Ziv said the change was unrelated to poor performance, misconduct rumors or events involving Hapoel Be’er Sheva. He described disappointment and frustration because he had wanted to continue, but said he remained on excellent terms with Angelidis. Ziv remains at Maccabi in another, more senior role; no specific new title was given.
