Israel Ice Hockey Team Regains Division IIA Promotion, Report Says

Israel’s national ice hockey team will play in Division IIA after the international federation reconsidered a decision to withhold its promotion, according to a September 30 report. Israel won Division IIB last season, but promotion was frozen after the Division IIA championship was canceled during the Iran war. The International Ice Hockey Federation congress, currently meeting in Tenerife, has reportedly reversed that decision. The championship will take place in the United Arab Emirates, with Croatia, Serbia, the UAE, Belgium, Australia and Georgia listed as Israel’s opponents. Tournament dates have not yet been determined.
