Shin Bet Temporarily Clears Israeli Airlines to Fly Leased Aircraft to UAE

The Shin Bet has granted Israeli airlines temporary approval to operate flights to the United Arab Emirates using leased aircraft. The permission is for a few days, until completion of the inquiry into the Flydubai incident that disrupted a Dubai-to-Israel flight earlier on Wednesday. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that evening that he had spoken with UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed about arranging aviation security measures. Netanyahu made the remarks while meeting Yaniv Hayon, an Israeli passenger who helped subdue the attacker aboard the diverted flight.
