Arkia Cancels Four Tokyo Flights While Seeking Japanese Operating Approval

Arkia has told passengers that its planned direct Tokyo flights on October 25 and 28 and November 1 and 5 have been cancelled. The airline says Japanese authorities currently do not permit the planned service with a wet-leased aircraft and foreign crew, and it is seeking approval to use its own aircraft. Affected passengers can choose an Arkia-arranged connection through Bangkok or Hanoi, switch to another Arkia destination with a 10% discount on the new ticket, or receive a full refund. Passengers booked on later flights are not currently required to change their reservations; approval remains unconfirmed.
