UK Announces £45 Million Missile Package for Ukraine Ahead of Zelenskyy Visit

Britain announced £45 million in surface-to-air missile deliveries for Ukraine, including £10 million to be accelerated for urgent winter requirements. The government said the British Lightweight Multirole Missiles are intended to counter Russian jet-powered drones. It separately cited an existing £1.6 billion commitment to supply more than 5,000 of these missiles over four years, distinct from the newly announced package. Prime Minister Andy Burnham is preparing to host Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at Downing Street in London and has instructed ministers to prepare further sanctions, military aid and fiscal support for Ukraine.
