William Daroff is the CEO of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations.
The #J50 declaration affirms Zionism as the national movement of the Jewish people and the expression of our right to self-determination in our ancient homeland, Israel. Grounded in the IHRA Working Definition of Antisemitism, it also draws a clear line around the use of anti-Zionism to deny Jewish self-determination or to marginalize, exclude, or discriminate against Jews.
Companies complying with these boycott measures should think carefully about the consequences. Thirty-eight U.S. states have acted, through laws or executive action, to oppose boycotts of Israel. Companies that participate in these measures may therefore put state contracts, investments, or other business at risk. Businesses should not allow foreign governments to enlist them in economic discrimination against Israelis.
