Police Commissioner Refuses Ben Gvir Meeting Until Budgets and Promotions Advance

Police Commissioner Daniel Levy will not meet National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir until NIS 333 million in funding is released and a senior officer promotion round is approved, according to people close to Levy. Police say only NIS 117 million of a NIS 450 million framework has been transferred, leaving money for 330 vehicles, building projects and operational equipment frozen. They warn some stations lack permanent commanders ahead of Rosh Hashanah. Ben-Gvir said the disputed NIS 450 million belongs to his ministry, not the police budget, and promised urgent purchases would proceed directly.
