Knesset Passes Election Rules for Evacuees and AI Campaign Content

The Knesset passed special rules for the October 27 election in second and third readings, with 23 lawmakers supporting and six opposing. Evacuated residents may vote at dedicated polling stations or accessible polling places using double envelopes, while the Central Elections Committee receives added flexibility for staffing, procurement and remote meetings during emergencies. The law requires campaign material containing digitally created or altered deepfakes, including AI-generated content, to carry a prominent disclosure. It also expands eligibility for military polling committees and lowers withholding tax for election workers from 25% to 18%.
