Satellite Imagery Suggests U.S. Dredged New Hormuz Corridor off Oman

画像:Satellite Imagery Suggests U.S. Dredged New Hormuz Corridor off Oman

Newly published satellite-imagery analysis suggests the United States dredged an alternate shipping corridor on the Omani side of the Strait of Hormuz. The analysis describes the route as about 1,600 feet wide and says its natural depth is roughly 93 feet, requiring only limited dredging for very large crude carriers. It says Jazirat Musandam and Earth’s curvature would obstruct Iranian visual observation of vessels using the corridor. No imagery provider, acquisition date, navigational notice, government acknowledgment or independent imagery confirmation was identified, leaving the dredging claim unverified.
