Netanyahu Says October 7 Would Not Have Unfolded the Same Had He Been Awakened

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a Sunday television interview that the October 7 attack would have unfolded differently if he had been awakened when warning signs accumulated. “If they had woken me, it would not have happened,” he said, adding that he meant the attack would not have occurred in the same way. Netanyahu called for the relevant protocols to be published and said material he showed State Comptroller Matanyahu Englman surprised the comptroller. He reiterated his opposition to a state commission of inquiry and proposed what he called an “equal commission of inquiry.”
