Four Opposition Leaders Pledge Oct. 7 State Inquiry After UAE Warning Report

Yashar leader Gadi Eisenkot, B’Yachad leader Naftali Bennett, Democrats leader Yair Golan and Yisrael Beytenu leader Avigdor Liberman jointly pledged to establish a state commission of inquiry immediately if they form Israel’s 38th government. The commitment followed reporting that UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed warned Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu roughly ten days before October 7 that Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar was preparing a major action. Netanyahu’s office called that account an “absolute lie” and denied any such call or warning. The four leaders said an inquiry should determine what Netanyahu knew, when he knew it and why Israel’s security establishment was not informed.
