Israel and Peru Agree to Expand Cooperation Through MASHAV

Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar and Peru’s new Foreign Minister Carlos Espá agreed during a phone call to expand bilateral cooperation, particularly through MASHAV, Israel’s international development agency. Peru’s Foreign Ministry said they discussed technical cooperation against transnational organized crime, water-resource management and preparedness for El Niño. Sa’ar invited Espá to visit Israel and said Israel was ready to help Peru strengthen its preparedness and resilience. The ministers also agreed to meet in the near future to advance ties between Israel, Peru and the wider Latin American region.
