Danon Rebukes Guterres Over Khamenei Condolences

Danny Danon posted at 18:14 IDT that UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres should answer whether it is appropriate to mourn Ali Khamenei, whom Danon called a brutal dictator responsible for murder, torture and persecution of Iranians. Israel National News carried the response at 01:47 IDT, after Iran International and Mint reported the same post and the Iranian Foreign Ministry's account that Guterres had expressed condolences in a Thursday call with Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. The point for Israel is moral clarity: diplomacy cannot normalize a terror-sponsoring regime or treat its tyrants as neutral statesmen.
