Paltchik Auctions Olympic Judogi for ZAKA Trauma Care
Jerusalem Post published July 5 that Israeli Olympic bronze medalist Peter Paltchik is auctioning the judogi he wore at the Paris 2024 Games to fund PTSD recovery and resilience programs for ZAKA volunteers and their families. ZAKA's campaign page and Hebrew reports say the minimum bid is $50,000 and the proceeds will support therapies, workshops, family aid, crisis tools and spiritual support for volunteers who respond to terror attacks, wars, disasters and fatal incidents. Paltchik linked the suit to Israel's first Paris medal and to coach Oren Smadga, whose son Omer fell in the war. Turning a national-sport symbol into care for those who honor the dead is a worthy act of Israeli solidarity.
