Anan Khalaili Set for Record Israeli Transfer to Inter Milan

Israeli national-team winger Anan Khalaili was reported Thursday evening to be on track for a record move from Union Saint-Gilloise to Inter Milan. Reports put the package at about 25 million euros, or 23 million euros plus bonuses, which would make the 21-year-old the most expensive Israeli player ever. The move follows two successful seasons in Belgium, where Khalaili helped Union win domestic honors, played in Europe and drew interest from major clubs. Maccabi Haifa, his former club, is expected to benefit from sell-on and solidarity payments, turning the transfer into a wider Israeli soccer milestone.
