Anti-AIPAC PAC Spending Plan Tests El-Sayed Pledge

American Priorities PAC, a new anti-AIPAC super PAC, confirmed it will spend to help Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan's Democratic U.S. Senate primary even though his campaign has made refusing PAC money a central message. The group said Mallory McMorrow's exit motivated its pledge to help him, and reports say super PACs may spend independently but cannot coordinate with campaigns. El-Sayed had not publicly commented on the plan when the reports were filed, while Haley Stevens, his pro-Israel rival, has welcomed outside support and has benefited from at least $10 million in AIPAC-affiliated spending. The August 4 primary is now a direct Israel-policy test inside a key Senate race.
