Israel Says It Killed Hamas Finance Chief Muhammad Abu Alwan in Khan Younis

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz said Israeli forces killed Muhammad Abu Alwan, whom they identified as head of Hamas's finance department, in Khan Younis on Wednesday. In their joint statement, the leaders praised the IDF and Shin Bet for what they called a precise operation against the group. They said Israel would keep pursuing Hamas commanders and operatives, striking its funding sources and destroying its infrastructure. Netanyahu and Katz said they would not allow Hamas to rebuild its strength in Gaza.
