Israel’s Democrats Set September 27 Deadline for Shin Bet Decision on Yair Golan Security

Israel's Democrats party sent an urgent letter to Shin Bet chief David Zini on Wednesday, seeking a decision by September 27 on protection for party leader Yair Golan and his family. Lawyer Omri Segev wrote that the party would petition the High Court if the agency did not decide by then. The party said Golan and his family face documented threats and said police had raised his threat level to four on a six-point scale, the same level it cited for Gadi Eisenkot. The letter warned that further delay could put Golan at risk.
