Yashar, Gadi Eisenkot's party, said Tuesday that the Shin Bet will not assign its own guards to its chairman. In response, the Shin Bet said director David Zini had approved intelligence monitoring and assistance on request, coordination with its security division, and periodic reviews of threats. It said privately hired security personnel could be permitted to carry firearms even without a concrete threat against Eisenkot. The party's statement and the agency's response describe separate arrangements: no direct Shin Bet guards for Eisenkot, but intelligence assistance and support for privately hired guards under the conditions Zini approved.
