Naor Shiri Holds Police Responsible for Protecting Political Activists

Naor Shiri said on Friday that civilians were being violently attacked in the streets because they wore a political party’s shirt and were receiving no help. In a Hebrew post on October 9, he described the incident as part of dozens of violent incidents against activists that he said were occurring daily. He mentioned knives and stones while describing the violence and addressed Israel Police officers directly. “You are entrusted with our security. The responsibility is yours,” Shiri wrote, placing responsibility for citizens’ protection on the police.
