Police Find 25-Meter Tunnel and Weapons in Qalqilya, Arrest Four

Israel Police said its Samaria crime unit and Border Police found an unfinished tunnel during a targeted search in Qalqilya on Wednesday and arrested four suspects. Police said the shaft was already at least 25 meters deep and that officers found the start of a second excavation. They reported seizing an M16 rifle, a sniper rifle, ammunition, magazines, phones, fertilizer described as material for making explosives, and a digital video recorder. The four suspects were taken for questioning. The statement did not identify the suspects or say what the tunnel was intended to be used for.
