IDF Orders Activation of 98th Division HQ in Judea and Samaria

The IDF said Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir ordered the activation of the 98th Division headquarters in Judea and Samaria after an operational assessment. The headquarters will take command of the Judea and Etzion brigades, according to the military. The IDF said the change is intended to strengthen command and control and improve defensive and offensive capabilities in the area. It linked the decision to recent events and ongoing assessments, but did not give a date for when the headquarters will begin operating.
