Turkey and Qatar Hit Back at Netanyahu Over U.N. Speech Accusations

Turkish and Qatari officials responded overnight to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's U.N. General Assembly address, in which he called Turkey a super-spreader of antisemitic lies, said President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan hosts Hamas terror chiefs, and accused Qatar of hosting the Hamas leaders behind October 7 and using university funding to turn young people against Israel and America. Erdoğan's communications director, Burhanettin Duran, called them unfounded accusations, cited the International Criminal Court's warrant against Netanyahu and pledged continued Turkish support for the Palestinians. Qatar's deputy ambassador in Washington, Hamad Al-Muftah, said Netanyahu had addressed a half-empty hall and that Hamas officials are in Doha because Qatar mediates talks involving Israel, Hamas, the United States and Egypt.
