Pezeshkian Says Iran Does Not Seek Nuclear Weapons, Denies Directing Houthis

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said in a U.S. television interview that Iran is not pursuing nuclear weapons because of a religious decree, even though the country has reached 60% uranium enrichment. Asked about Yemen's Houthi rebels, Pezeshkian said Tehran does not dictate what they do. "The Houthis are responsible for their actions. They don't take orders," he said, while acknowledging that Iran is in contact with the rebels. Pezeshkian also discussed his conversations with Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei and said Khamenei is in good health and able to govern.
