Israel Formally Inducts INS Drakon at Haifa as Herzog, Katz and Zamir Warn Iran

The IDF formally received the submarine INS Drakon on Thursday at a ceremony at the Haifa naval base attended by President Isaac Herzog, Defense Minister Israel Katz and Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir. Zamir handed the vessel to Flotilla 7 and said Iran's regime was "wounded and bruised" but had not changed its intentions. Katz said the arrival told Tehran that "distance does not grant immunity," including at sea, and Herzog said Israel would not hesitate to use this force thousands of kilometers from its borders. Drakon, Israel's sixth submarine, arrived after a 24-day voyage from Germany and should become operational in about two months.
