U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio instructed Iran's visiting delegation to leave the United States one day earlier than planned, a U.S. official and a diplomatic source said in a newly published account. They said the instruction came Monday after technical discussions between U.S. and Iranian officials. Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi headed the delegation in New York for the U.N. General Assembly, alongside indirect talks with Washington about reopening the Strait of Hormuz. Araghchi had previously said he intended to depart Tuesday. The action did not constitute an expulsion of all Iranian diplomats accredited to the U.N. and stationed in the United States.
