IDF's 98th Division Headquarters Takes Command of Etzion and Judea Brigades

The IDF said the 98th Division headquarters completed its operational preparations on Friday and began commanding the Etzion and Judea brigades in Judea and Samaria, in accordance with a directive from Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir. The military announced on Wednesday that Zamir had ordered the headquarters activated following a situational assessment, against the background of recent events in Judea and Samaria. It said the move strengthens command and control to boost defensive and offensive capabilities in the area. According to the IDF, the Judea and Samaria Division and the 98th Division, including the territorial brigades, will operate jointly in defense and offense to strengthen security and counter terrorism.
