Kabbalist Rabbi David Batzri, 85, Resuscitated After Collapsing in Bnei Brak

Rabbi David Batzri, 85, head of the HaShalom yeshiva in Jerusalem and a prominent kabbalist, lost consciousness on Friday morning, the eve of Sukkot, at a family home in Bnei Brak. Hatzalah volunteers and Magen David Adom medics found him without a pulse and not breathing, and performed advanced resuscitation on site, including chest compressions and medication, until his pulse returned. He was taken to Sheba Medical Center at Tel HaShomer, where his condition stabilized somewhat. His son, Rabbi Yitzhak Batzri, asked the public to pray for David Shalom ben Victoria. The rabbi was treated in intensive care at Hadassah Ein Karem late last year.
