Prosecutors Indict Beit She'an Man for Murder of Crime Boss Yanis Yushvayev in Caesarea

The State Prosecution filed an indictment in the Haifa District Court on Friday morning charging Doron Weizman, 54, of Beit She'an, with the August 23 murder of Yanis Yushvayev, head of the so-called Caucasian mafia. The indictment says Weizman arrived at a Caesarea restaurant in a stolen car with forged plates, ordered food and waited, then followed Yushvayev out and shot him once in the head at close range. The charges include murder under aggravating circumstances, weapons offenses and unlicensed, uninsured driving. Prosecutors cited 38 prior convictions and asked that he be held until the end of proceedings. Police, who found his DNA at the scene, believe someone else ordered the killing.
