Report Identifies PA Security Officer Among Qalqilya Shaft Suspects

A report published Monday said one of the Palestinian suspects held in the Qalqilya shaft case serves in the Palestinian Authority's Preventive Security force. The suspect denies the allegations and says he visited another suspect at the site, according to the report. A Samaria military court extended the custody of two Palestinian suspects by eight days on September 28, while two Israeli suspects remain held until September 29. Police suspect weapons possession and preparations for a terrorist act or a passage for an offense or escape; the IDF previously said the excavations were shafts, not a tunnel route.
