36 Israelis Evacuated From Fighting Area in Ethiopia

Thirty-six Israelis have been evacuated from an area of fighting in Ethiopia, according to a report published Tuesday night. Four other Israelis remain in Lalibela and are expected to leave by helicopter on Wednesday. Israel's Foreign Ministry, its embassy in Addis Ababa, the National Security Council, Knesset member Pnina Tamano-Shata and businessperson Lior Yisais led the rescue effort. The Ethiopian army assisted and helped ensure the Israelis' safety. The report did not say that the evacuated group had reached Israel or left Ethiopia.
