The FBI took Benny Caldera Jr., 40, into federal custody late Wednesday evening after arresting him at Bexar County Jail in connection with an alleged plan to attack the Texas Capitol. Texas public-safety officials said he would face additional federal charges, whose details were not released. He had earlier been arrested in Converse and charged with making a terroristic threat against a public servant. An arrest affidavit cited a friend’s allegation that Caldera was angry at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee. The alleged attack was planned for Thursday.
