Russian Attack Kills One in Kyiv as Southern Bridge Is Hit Again

A Russian attack on Kyiv killed one person and injured at least two others on October 2, Ukraine’s State Emergency Service said. A 25-storey residential building was hit in the Darnytskyi district, with fire breaking out on the 24th and 25th floors before crews extinguished it across 120 square metres. Rescuers took two injured people to medics and evacuated six others, while debris removal continued. Mayor Vitali Klitschko separately reported another hit on the Southern Bridge at 5:03 a.m. local time and said emergency services were heading there.
