Sydney Roosters Beat Newcastle Knights 19–18 to Win NRL Grand Final

Sydney Roosters beat Newcastle Knights 19–18 at Accor Stadium in Sydney on Sunday to win the 2026 NRL grand final, their first men’s premiership since 2019. Daly Cherry-Evans kicked the decisive field goal in the 70th minute after the Roosters recovered from a 12–0 deficit, while Mark Nawaqanitawase scored two tries. Captain James Tedesco won the Clive Churchill Medal as the best player in the final, finishing with 385 running metres and 14 tackle breaks. Newcastle’s Greg Marzhew scored a late try that Sandon Smith converted, leaving the Knights one point short before a crowd of 80,814.
