Hezbollah reportedly received $200 million from Iran last month to help Lebanese displaced by the war with Israel, according to two people familiar with the transfer. The disclosure came on October 7, with the transfer reportedly taking place despite heavy U.S. economic pressure on Iran. Intermediaries reportedly charged a 20% commission, reflecting the risks of working with Hezbollah. An unnamed Hezbollah official said funds had been obtained and that a distribution plan would be announced in the coming days, without identifying the source of the money.
