U.S. Sanctions Networks Enabling Kata’ib Hezbollah and Lebanese Hezbollah

The U.S. Treasury sanctioned 14 individuals and five entities under Operation Economic Outcast, targeting networks that it said enabled Kata’ib Hezbollah and Lebanese Hezbollah across Iraq, Lebanon, the United Arab Emirates and Türkiye. Treasury said Hussein Ibrahim and Abdallah Hamieh transferred hundreds of millions of dollars from Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-Quds Force to Hezbollah between May and September 2025. The department said Hezbollah uses such funding to buy weapons, manufacture equipment and pay members. The action blocks covered property under U.S. jurisdiction and shifts review of Iran-related specific licenses to a presumption of denial, with limited safety exceptions.
