Constitution Committee chairman MK Simcha Rothman said he expects the first indictment against detained Nukhba terrorists involved in the October 7 attacks in the first half of 2027. He estimated that a trial could begin about six months later, with initial verdicts and sentences possible in 2028. Rothman said a prosecution-unit head is expected to be appointed within two weeks and must decide whether to start with an individual test case or a group prosecution. He described extensive preparations for a planned court in Atarot, Jerusalem, including a dedicated victim-support apparatus to prepare families for distressing evidence.
