Israel’s Privacy Protection Authority has determined that the Education Ministry violated the Privacy Protection Law and information-security regulations following a leak of sensitive student information. The finding concerns records relating to approximately 21,000 special-education pupils in the ministry’s Haredi district. The information leaked in May 2024 and was distributed online to parties that were not authorized to receive it. The newly reported determination was made by the authority within the Justice Ministry.
