Danon Criticizes Nobel Peace Prize Award to Navi Pillay

Israel’s UN ambassador Danny Danon criticized the Norwegian Nobel Committee on October 9 for awarding the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize to Navi Pillay. He accused her of spending years spreading lies, smears and serious accusations against Israel. Danon said former laureates Menachem Begin, Henry Kissinger and Martin Luther King Jr. would be “turning in their graves.” He also questioned rhetorically whether Hamas and al-Qaeda terrorists would be next to receive the prize. The committee said it honored Pillay for her efforts promoting peace and international law.
