HaEmek Medical Center Treats Water System After Legionella Detected

HaEmek Medical Center in Afula is treating part of its water system after routine testing detected Legionella bacteria. The hospital said abnormal sampling results came from an area used by staff, rather than directly by patients. It said treatment of the affected water infrastructure was being carried out according to Ministry of Health guidelines following the findings from the routine checks. The hospital said there was no concern about illness and expected the treatment to be completed in the morning.
