Gan Yavne Announces Social and Emotional Skills Program for Kindergartens and Schools

Gan Yavne's education department has announced that it is beginning a municipality-wide social and emotional skills program in kindergartens and schools. The Taazumot program, developed by Dr. Odelia Alkobi, gives children tools for emotional regulation, empathy and understanding nonverbal messages. Education teams will receive guidance and practical tools for daily work, with the aim of strengthening belonging and reducing violence and social exclusion. Parents will participate through cooperation between homes and educational staff. Education department director Ayelet Ben David said friendships, social skills and a place within the group help children become emotionally available for learning.
