Published
Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa ordered river fumigation and distribution of masks and health kits in Igbokoda on Wednesday after residents reported a strong smell near last week's Nigerian Air Force aircraft crash site. Information Commissioner Idowu Ajanaku said the environment and health ministries would carry out the work. Ilaje Local Government was instructed to arrange tanker supplies of drinking water if assessments found the river severely polluted and unsuitable for use. The government did not say whether tests had confirmed contamination or when fumigation would begin.
