China and North Korea Open New Yalu River Bridge

The New Yalu River Bridge between China and North Korea officially opened on October 15, establishing a new connection across their shared border. The opening followed the two countries’ agreement on the date, which China’s Foreign Ministry announced the previous day alongside plans for a joint inauguration ceremony. The Chinese announcement described the bridge as an important facility for connectivity between the two countries. Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said the crossing would facilitate bilateral economic, trade and people-to-people exchanges.
