Minibus Hits Eurotunnel Shuttle at Coquelles; 19 People Taken to Hospital

A minibus carrying lorry drivers left its lane and hit the side of a departing Le Shuttle train at Eurotunnel's Coquelles terminal in France on October 15, the Pas-de-Calais prefecture said. The 19 people involved, including the driver, were taken to hospital. Two were classified as urgent cases; the other 17, slightly injured or otherwise involved, went to hospitals in Calais and Boulogne-sur-Mer. The prefecture reported no deaths and said no one's life was in danger at that stage. Le Shuttle passenger services were interrupted for 90 minutes before normal traffic resumed; Eurostar and freight traffic were unaffected.
