Palmeiras Beat Fluminense 2-1 in Copa Libertadores Semifinal First Leg

Palmeiras beat Fluminense 2-1 at the Maracanã in Rio de Janeiro on October 14 in the first leg of their Copa Libertadores semifinal. Flaco López put Palmeiras ahead just before halftime, and Marlon Freitas doubled the lead late in the second half. Wesley Natã headed in Guga's cross in added time to reduce Fluminense's deficit. The return leg is scheduled for October 21 at 21:30 Brasília time at Nubank Parque in São Paulo. A draw would send Palmeiras to the final; Fluminense need a two-goal win to advance directly, while a one-goal win would take the tie to penalties.
